New Beta Phi Mu Professional Membership Category Announced

The Beta Phi Mu Executive Board has approved a new category of membership in our honor society: professional membership. This category is meant for people who meet the qualifications of membership but did not join at the point of graduation. This may be due to graduating from a program that was not actively nominating members at the time or not being nominated due to nomination caps. Nominated graduates may have chosen not to join at the time and the record of nomination has subsequently been lost.

Professional members must meet the same minimum GPA of 3.75 from an accredited or recognized LIS program, provide letters of recommendation, and show evidence of having made a distinctive contribution to the profession.
