Description
Sessa Scholarships are intended to support Beta Phi Mu members in pursuing continuing professional education in LIS, archival studies, or other approved information-related studies. Approved uses include attendance at professional preconference workshops or short courses; continuing education courses offered by accredited LIS programs; and online or face-to-face continuing education workshops and classes sponsored by professional associations and approved continuing education providers. These awards are not intended to support conference attendance or the pursuit of a formal degree, such as a Ph.D. or second Master’s degree.
Requirements:
$150 each
Number of Awards:
Ten awards per year; five awarded in March and five awarded in September.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. Beta Phi Mu members, please visit the lottery registration page and fill out the form after reading the guidelines.
Please do not register for the lottery more than once in a calendar year; multiple submissions will result in disqualification. If you register prior to the March drawing but do not win, you are still enrolled in the lottery for the September drawing.

- Must be a Beta Phi Mu member
- Must use the funds for approved professional development within one year of receiving the award
- Must send a brief report of the funded educational experience to Beta Phi Mu Headquarters within three months of its completion
- Must not have received a Sessa scholarship within the last five years
- Must agree to and follow all requirements set out in the Sessa Scholarship Guidelines
